If you are one or two people: the per-seat tours
Tokyo: Private Snow Monkey Park & Nagano Scenic Day Trip — $102 per person. The most reviewed option on this site by a wide margin: 218 reviews at 4.9, against 80 for the next highest. It gives two hours inside the park, the longest stop of any Tokyo charter here, and it is the only per-seat listing here with real review volume behind it. Book it and you have a private vehicle with its own driver for about a quarter of what a charter costs a couple.

Or skip the road entirely. The Hokuriku Shinkansen reaches Nagano in eighty minutes. A local operator picks you up at the station, gives you two hours at the park, and includes the gate fee, a soba lunch and a hot spring bath for $127 per person. What to check before you pay, whichever you choose
Time at the park. It ranges from unstated to two hours across these eight. It is the one number that determines whether you watched the macaques or photographed them, and it is not the number the listings lead with.
The gate fee. ¥800 per adult and ¥400 per child, rising to ¥1,000 and ¥500 on 1 December 2026. Every Tokyo charter here excludes it. Only the Nagano-based tour includes it. Carry cash in yen.
The stop count. Five stops in a ten-hour day is forty minutes each once the driving is counted. A private vehicle means you choose which three actually happen — say so at pickup.
