Good to Know & Caveats
- Entrance fees are not included — the operator states this plainly.
- The park is reached on foot: 1.6 km each way from the Kanbayashi Onsen trailhead, about 25 to 30 minutes, mostly level but frozen underfoot for much of the winter.
- Park admission is paid at the gate and is not included: ¥800 for adults and ¥400 for children, rising to ¥1,000 and ¥500 on 1 December 2026 (¥880 / ¥440 if you buy an e-ticket online).
- Two stops in ten hours is the least crowded itinerary of the Tokyo charters here, which is the point of it.
- The 30 minutes at Zenko-ji covers the grounds and main hall, not the paid inner sanctuary.

A live guide is listed in addition to the transport, which is not true of every charter here. If commentary matters to you, that is the difference worth paying for.
Only two stops — is that a drawback?
It depends what you came for. Seven hours of the day is driving, so an itinerary with five stops spends the remainder in 40-minute pieces. This one gives 80 minutes to the monkeys and half an hour to the temple, and does not pretend otherwise.
What does the price cover?
The vehicle for up to six people, not one seat. At $457 split four ways that is about $114 each.
